Bill Ellis received his accounting degree from Furman
University, a Masters of Professional Accountancy degree from Clemson
University, and a post-graduate certificate in state and local taxation from
the University of Wisconsin. Bill is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in
SC, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a
member of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.
Bill spent twenty years with Michelin North America in Greenville, SC and
Akron, OH and five years as a senior tax accountant with Lockheed Martin. Bill
has taught undergraduate accounting courses for the past ten years.
Presently Bill teaches ACC 111 Principles of Financial Accounting, ACC 301
Principles of Managerial Accounting, ACC 370 Advanced Financial
Accounting, ACC 450 Advanced Topics in Accounting, ACC 315 Governmental and
Non-Profit Accounting, and BUS 380 Business Ethics in Furman University's
Undergraduate Evening Studies program. Bill also teaches ACC 301 Principles of
Managerial Accounting and ACC 320 Cost Accounting in the Furman Department of
Business and Accounting.
Additionally, Bill has served on the American Society for Training and
Development Board of Directors, Camp Opportunity Board of Directors, Leadership
Greenville Alumni Board, Leadership Greenville Class 32, Opportunity
Greenville, The International Center for the Upstate, Greenville Symphony
Spotlight Series, Greenville Chamber of Commerce Issues Series Board, SCACPA
Higher Education Task Force and Greenville Forward Education Task Force.
